Practical support · Richmond & Lexington, Kentucky

Life gets heavy.
We help carry it.

The Her Project brings women together to care for one another through the everyday things that can feel impossible in a hard season.

01

Our mission

We’re rebuilding
the village.

There are seasons when keeping life moving asks more than one woman can give.

Grief. A new baby. Illness. Divorce. Caregiving. A sudden change—or simply too many things for too long. The Her Project connects women with a local circle ready to step into the ordinary: dinner, laundry, errands, a clean kitchen, a ride, or a few hours of breathing room.

No shame. No perfect explanation. Just help.

The kind of help that changes a day

Care that looks like
real life.

A caring presence

Childcare support, care packages, check-ins, and the relief of knowing someone came.

How it works

Simple enough to ask.
Personal enough to matter.

A woman can raise her own hand, or someone who loves her can reach out. We listen first, then shape support around what would genuinely make this week lighter.

  1. 1

    Tell us what’s heavy

Share a little about the season you—or a woman you care about—is walking through.

  2. 2

    We make a thoughtful plan

We identify the practical help that would create the most relief right now.

  3. 3

    Her circle shows up

Volunteers, neighbors, and local partners step in with care that is respectful and useful.

Some months I bring the dinner.
Some months, I need the dinner.

Who shows up

Women caring for women.
That’s the whole idea.

This is not a community divided into helpers and people who need help. Roles change. Seasons change. We all have something to offer, and we all deserve somewhere soft to land.

  • Women volunteering their time and talents
  • Local businesses donating goods or services
  • Community partners connecting women to support
  • Neighbors giving what they can, when they can

Your first step

You don’t have to have
the right words.

You can ask for yourself or for someone you love. Start by telling us what is going on and what would make the next few days feel more manageable.

♡ Every story is handled with care, dignity, and discretion.

Start a conversation

Tell us what would make
this week lighter.

This short form is for you or for a woman you care about. Share only what feels comfortable—we’ll begin by listening.
